Anthony J. Castaldo is HAEi’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. He is a founding Board member and has led HAEi since its 2004 registration as a non-profit organization. He is also a founding Board Member and CEO of the US Hereditary Angioedema Association (HAEA) – an HAEi Member Organization with 8,000 members. Tony served as Associate Inspector General at the United States Federal Reserve until his retirement in 2013. He is a co-author of over 20 HAE-related medical journal papers and is frequently invited to speak on HAE and rare diseases.

HENRIK BALLE BOYSENPresident
Henrik Balle Boysen serves as the President and Board Member of the US Hereditary Angioedema Association (HAEA) and HAE Scandinavia. He was appointed as HAEi’s Executive Director in 2009 after serving four years as a member of the Executive Committee. Henrik is responsible for planning and executing HAEi’s strategic and operational direction and guiding the leadership team as they implement the organization’s programs, services, and activities. Before joining HAEi, Henrik held several executive-level positions in global corporations. He is a co-author of several HAE-related medical journal papers and is frequently invited to speak on HAE and advocacy.

FIONA WARDMANExecutive Vice President Global Advocacy and Chief Diversity Officer
Fiona Wardman is HAEi’s Executive Vice President of Global Advocacy and Chief Diversity Officer. Fiona joined the Board in 2014 and serves as HAEi’s Treasurer. She leads the global advocacy team and oversees day-to-day efforts to help Member Organizations raise awareness and advocate for access to and reimbursement for modern HAE therapies. Fiona is also the Regional Patient Advocate for South Africa and several countries in the Asia Pacific region. She co-founded the Australasian HAE organization in 2011. Prior to joining the HAEi team, Fiona held managerial positions in a variety of companies and industries.
JØRN SCHULTZ-BOYSEN
JØRN SCHULTZ-BOYSENExecutive Vice President Global Operations and Chief Compliance Officer
Jørn Schultz-Boysen serves as HAEi’s Executive Vice President Global Operations and Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for day-to-day operational, managerial, and financial matters. Jørn joined the Board in 2012 and has also served as HAEi’s Executive Project Manager. He is a co-founder of HAE Scandinavia where he serves as the Vice President. Jørn is also the Regional Patient Advocate for the Nordics, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Israel. Before joining HAEi, he held executive-level positions in a variety of companies with global operations.
MICHAL RUTKOWSKI
MICHAL RUTKOWSKIDirector, Regional Patient Advocate Program
Michal Rutkowski serves as the HAEi’s Vice President of the Board and Director, Regional Patient Advocate Program. Michal is responsible for guiding, managing, and implementing the strategic direction of HAEi’s Regional Patient Advocate Program. He works closely with HAEi’s Executive Vice President of Global Advocacy, and Coordinator, Global Advocacy and ACARE. Michal is also the Regional Patient Advocate for Central Eastern Europe and Middle East. He founded HAE Poland in 2005 and continues to serve as its President. In addition to fulfilling his HAEi responsibilities, Michal remains active in his architectural profession.
RACHEL ANNALS
RACHEL ANNALSCoordinator, Global Advocacy and ACARE
Rachel Annals is HAEi’s Coordinator, Global Advocacy and ACARE. Rachel’s responsibilities include supporting implementation of HAEi’s global advocacy program and our Regional Patient Advocates. She also serves as HAEi’s liaison to the GA2LEN/HAEi worldwide network of ACARE centers. Rachel joined HAEi as a Board Member in 2014. She also serves as the Executive Officer at HAE UK, a position she has held for the past 12 years. Rachel’s professional experience includes 18 years working for local government in the UK as a graphics and website manager.
DEBORAH CORCORAN
DEBORAH CORCORANChief Scientific Officer
Deborah Corcoran is HAEi’s Chief Scientific Officer. Debs fulfills a key role supporting HAEi’s research, scientific information exchange, education, and communication. Debs has worked with HAEi since 2012. Before joining HAEi, Debs held senior positions within U.K. and global healthcare communications agencies. Debs holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry.

OLE FRØLICH CHRISTENSENChief Technology Officer
Ole Frølich serves as HAEi’s Chief Technology Officer. Ole is responsible for all IT-related activities including architecture, implementation of web-based IT services offered to Member Organizations, and development and implementation of HAEi’s state-of-the-art technological solutions that include HAE TrackR, HAEi Academy, HAEi Connect, and others. Ole has worked with HAEi since 2014.
NEVENA TSUTSUMANOVA
NEVENA TSUTSUMANOVAManager, Youngsters Community and Special Projects
Nevena Tsutsumanova serves as HAEi’s Manager, Youngsters Community and Special Projects. Nevena organizes, coordinates, and develops creative programming for HAEi’s Youngsters’ Community. She also facilitates the Youngsters’ Advisory Group, which advises HAEi Leadership on programming that fits the needs of the Youngsters’ Community. Nevena is also responsible for HAEi’s Market Research and Clinical Trial Awareness Framework, and other special projects. She joined HAEi in 2017 and had previous experience working in a Danish medical software company.

STUART MAYELLEditor in Chief, Global Perspectives
Stuart currently supports HAEi as Editor-in-Chief of Global Perspectives. In this Stuart covers key developments in HAE, including the activities of individuals and organizations across the HAEi community. Stuart’s background is as a copywriter and communications professional, with more than 28 years of experience. Stuart is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster.
RIKKE SØRENSEN
RIKKE SØRENSENManager, Communication, Design, and Graphics
Rikke Sørensen serves as HAEi’s Manager, Communications, Design, and Graphics. Rikke is responsible for designing graphics and preparing content for HAEi’s social media channels, conferences and workshops, websites, and Global Perspectives Magazine. Rikke has worked with HAEi since 2015. She also held several marketing positions with Novartis.
KARINA LANGSAGER
KARINA LANGSAGERManager, Events and Conferences
Karina Langsager is HAEi’s Manager, Events and Conferences. She is responsible for planning and logistics for the HAEi Global Leadership Workshops and Regional Conferences. Karina also supports Member Organizations that use HAEi’s event platform EventZoo. In addition, she is the treasurer of HAE Scandinavia, where she has been a Board Member since 2014. Karina developed her project and event management skills while working as an occupational therapist and as a scout leader. Karina joined HAEi in 2021.

BJØRN SEBASTIAN BOYSENCoordinator, Events and Technology
Bjørn Sebastian Boysen serves as HAEi’s Coordinator, Events and Technology. His responsibilities include support of HAEi’s apps and IT solutions, as well as coordination of logistics and travel grants related to HAEi’s workshops and conferences. In addition, Bjørn has been instrumental in building and supporting the HAE Companion app. Prior to joining HAEi, Bjørn worked as a customer service specialist in the mobile phone industry.

VICTORIA SCHULTZ-BOYSENCoordinator, Youngsters' Community
Victoria Schultz-Boysen is HAEi’s Coordinator, Youngsters’ Community. She is responsible for organizing and coordinating HAEi’s Youngsters’ Community and supporting the HAEi Youngsters’ Advisory Group. Victoria is a part of planning and coordinating the LEAP 2024 program. In addition, since 2020 she serves as a board member of HAE Scandinavia. Victoria was part of the LEAP class of 2023 and has since then worked on a project with her Member Organization. Victoria joined HAEi in 2024.
MORTEN THØGERSEN
MORTEN THØGERSENIT Specialist
Morten serves as the lead developer on HAEi IT solutions and services. As a natural part of this job, Morten also works with both online security and day-to-day support for the HAEi team. In addition he works closely with the HAE Conference team configuring the Eventzoo platform and travel grant system.

Morten has been working with HAEi IT projects since 2019.
